Une maison de vacances à Antigua … Inspiration déco

Direction Antigua pour illustrer une envie d’exotisme avec cette maison hautement tropical chic/kitch ! Je ne dis pas que je vivrais dans cet intérieur tous les jours mais il a le mérite de me donner immédiatement cette sensation de coolitude insulaire dont je m’envelopperais bien là, maintenant de suite !

Alors ne serait-ce que pour l’instant, fermer les yeux et se projeter dans ce salon en rotin avec vue sur la mer turquoise, l’air subtilement distillé par les pales du ventilateur, la brise soulevant les fins voilages blancs au rythme des alizés … Franchement, je ne sais pas vous, mais perso je m’y projetterais bien un moment ! Allez une bonne quinzaine même !!!

Et si il n’est évidemment pas question de transformer notre habitation quotidienne en paradis tropical, certains tips déco peuvent aider à affronter l’hiver de ce côté ci de la planète. Inspiration !

Ajouter des rayures plages à votre déco. Rideaux, coussins … on ose la rayure transat sur des pièces de déco pouvant facilement être interchangées quand on en aura marre.

Chiner des meubles en rotin. D’un fauteuil Emmanuelle en passant par des petits tabourets ou objets tropical kitch histoire de donner une Island Touch à votre intérieur. J’aime aussi l’idée de glisser dans mon intérieur une chaise longue devant une fenêtre orientée au sud pour profiter du soleil rasant de l’hiver. 

Égayer un mur blanc tristounet ou sombre d’un couloir d’un motif mural peint assez épuré et simple à réaliser. Là encore, il sera facile à recouvrir le jour où vous n’en aurez plus envie !

Mais aussi investir dans de grande plantes tropicales en pot, tels que bananiers, monstera ou oiseaux du paradis pour faire entrer une jungle exubérante dans la maison. Si votre espace est trop petit pour oser cela, rabattez vous sur des fleurs tropicales comme les orchidées, anthuriums …

Choisir un lustre ou des luminaires kitchs. En osier, en forme de poisson, de perroquet ou avec des hyppocampes comme dans cette maison d’Antigua, un lustre qui se démarque et ne se prend pas au sérieux et qui apportera la touche maison de vacances donc on a envie en plein hiver. Faire recouvrir un fauteuil ou un petit pouf d’un tissu coloré ( le mien a été magnifiquement réalisé par Atelier Oxalis ) et chatoyant ou d’un chintz fleuri pour apporter une touche tropicale sans chambouler toute votre déco. A assortir de quelques coussins coordonnés à glisser sur votre canapé gris ou beige.

Disséminer pléthore de petits objets rapportés de vacances ici et là. Coquillages, bois flotté, cartes postales qui vont expédieront direct sous le soleil au premier coup d’œil ! Et enfin, garnir une coupe de fruits tropicaux, colorés et savoureux et la placer bien en évidence sur votre comptoir de cuisine ou votre table de salle à manger, dans laquelle piocher pour le cocktails du soir !!!

A vacation home in Antigua … Decorating inspiration

Direction Antigua to illustrate a desire for exoticism with this highly tropical chic/kitch home! I’m not saying I’d live in this interior every day, but it has the merit of immediately giving me that feeling of island coolness I’d wrap myself around right here, right now!

So, if only for the moment, closing your eyes and projecting yourself into this rattan lounge overlooking the turquoise sea, the air subtly distilled by the fan blades, the breeze lifting the fine white curtains to the rhythm of the trade winds … Frankly, I don’t know about you, but I’d like to project myself into it for a while! A good two weeks, even!

And while it’s obviously out of the question to transform our everyday home into a tropical paradise, there are a few decorating tips that can help us cope with winter on this side of the planet. Inspiration !

Add beach stripes to your decor. Curtains, cushions… dare to use deckchair stripes on decor pieces that can easily be interchanged when you get tired of them.

Find rattan furniture. From an Emmanuelle armchair to small stools or kitschy tropical objects to give your interior an Island Touch. I also like the idea of slipping a chaise longue into my home in front of a south-facing window to enjoy the low winter sun.

Brighten up a drab white or dark hallway wall with a simple, uncluttered painted wall design. Once again, it’ll be easy to cover up when you don’t feel like it anymore!

Or invest in large potted tropical plants, such as banana trees, monstera or birds of paradise, to bring an exuberant jungle into your home. If your space is too small for this, fall back on tropical flowers such as orchids, anthuriums…

Choose a chandelier or kitsch lighting fixtures. And last but not least, garnish a bowl with colorful, tasty tropical fruit and place it prominently on your kitchen counter or dining room table, from which to draw your evening cocktails!
